Even though cannabis is a State approved, legal medical treatment option, no protections have been put in place prohibiting patients from falling victim to medical discrimination in the work place.
Because “marijuana” is still widely considered a drug of abuse, the use of medical cannabis by employers continues to be widely unaccepted. People are being told they either have to stop using their medicine or they will be fired.
